Annual Le Maitre Day a top pick for vintage 2016
It was another fun-filled day of handpicking fruit, food, wine and festivities on Saturday, 23 April for our Annual Home Block Harvest Le Maitre Day celebration.
More than 50 Wine Club members and special guests joined us for this exclusive event including Gibbston Valley Winery founder Alan Brady.
A Central Otago wine pioneer, Brady originally planted our now certified-organic Home Block vineyard in 1983. Fruit from this site produced Central Otago’s first commercial vintage with the release of Gibbston Valley Pinot Noir in 1987.
After a morning of handpicking fruit, guests were invited to the winery restaurant for a complimentary gourmet lunch with wine including our 2013 Le Maitre Pinot Noir and the debut of the 2015 vintage. Both were a delicious pairing with our roast venison leg and creamy roast vegetable lunch main.
To top if all off we have live entertainment provided by Calico. It was a glorious afternoon of wine, food and lots of laughter.
This vintage marked another spectacular event for Wine Club members, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in 2017.
